About the Conference
Shared spatial data for an efficient digital state
The International Spatial Data Conference 2026 aims to provide an open forum for European and Hungarian policy‑makers, governance actors and professional stakeholders to lay the foundations of the National Spatial Data Infrastrucure (NSDI) called National Spatial Data Ecosystem (NSDE) of Hungary.
The event focuses on the strategic aspects of the alignment of regulatory and institutional frameworks, and the exchange of European experience essential for building a well‑functioning national SDI. Through change of perspective, knowledge sharing and strengthened partnerships, the conference seeks to support Hungary in establishing a coherent, sustainable and effective spatial data ecosystem.
Vision:
The National Spatial Data Ecosystem (NSDE) is more than a shared data platform: it is a nationwide cooperation framework that connects public, private, academic and professional actors working with spatial data. Its goal is to ensure that spatial data are not created in isolation, but reinforce one another through common standards and coordinated collaboration, and that—once shared—they become visible, accessible and fully exploitable. The NSDE supports the ambitions and developments of the digital state. Its operation requires an appropriate technological foundation, aligned policy, legal, financial and professional frameworks, a chane of persprective, and strong expert capacity.
In the long term, the NSDE aims to make spatial data services widely known, accessible and genuinely useful for decision‑makers, service providers and citizens alike.

Térképeink már az őskortól segítenek minket abban, hogy a környezetünkben tájékozódni tudjunk, megtaláljuk a legjobb vadász vagy éppen halász helyeket, eljussunk a szomszédos településekre, kapcsolatot teremthessünk egymással. A digitalizáció látszólag háttérbe szorította a térképek világát. Mindennapjainkban fontos szerepet játszanak a téradatok.
